What we do. The Transparent Purchasing Method.

Restaurants throughout the world are experiencing a significant rise in all of their costs. It has NEVER been more important to negotiate the BEST DEAL you can for the food and supplies you order from your distributors. Below is the FREE service we provide to restaurant owners who are ready to hold their suppliers ACCOUNTABLE.



STEP ONE: GET YOUR RULES SET 

The first step of the Transparent Purchasing Method is to reach out to new suppliers. Michael and the Transparent Purchasing Group  will reach out to competing distributors in your area, letting them know that you are offering a chance to earn your restaurant’s business provided they agree to two things: a Cost Plus Markup Structure and Restaurant Audit Rights.


STEP TWO: GET QUOTES FROM NEW SUPPLIERS

Once we have some interested distributors that qualify for your contract by agreeing to the rules we put forward, we will request quotes from each of them. We perform these negotiations free of charge to you. As a bonus, our negotiations may also include some extra perks like an additional 2-4% off invoices or a monthly charity donation budget that will be reimbursed.


STEP THREE: BRING IN YOUR CURRENT SUPPLIER

You’ve got quotes from all your new supplier options. Now it’s time to bring your current distributor back in and allow them to compete with the latest quotes you received. We let your supplier know about your new offers and ask them to offer their best deal to you. To keep your business, they must also agree to the COST PLUS strategy and AUDIT RIGHTS the other suppliers have agreed to.  


STEP FOUR: CHOOSE THE BEST OFFER

Based on the counter-offer your current distributor provides, you can choose them or you can go for one of the other distributors that submitted a quote to you. Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy the maximum savings possible. 

   

STEP FIVE: HOLD THEM TO THEIR WORD

One month after these new conditions are signed off on with the supplier you choose, perform your first audit. Don’t worry, we’ll show you how to do that. Continue to do regular audits, at least once every 6 months. If there are any discrepancies, you can get any overcharged back as a credit. 

Our 80% Requirement*

Whether you’re a single unit store owner or have multiple locations, the Transparent Purchasing Method will only work if you are open to offering one supplier 80% of your food orders. Why is this important? The more products we order from one supplier, the lower we can negotiate the markup on your cost of goods. 


SAMPLE SCENARIO:

Let's say we have a single shop owner who is ordering $3,000 dollars of products from three different distributors per week.  Each distributor that the shop owner is currently working with is marking up their price by 30% over their actual cost.  That means the shop is paying a mark up of $900 per week. That $900 per week is what's negotiable! 


Instead of using 3 different suppliers at $1000 each, we can offer more of our order total to fewer suppliers in exchange for a lower markup price.


HOW SUPPLIERS WIN

In the example, each supplier gets $1000 a week in orders, plus a 30% markup, coming to $300 in net profit. If we give one supplier all $3000 in orders and negotiate a 15% markup, the vendor’s revenue is increased by 50% and their net profit from $300 to $450 per week.


HOW YOU WIN 

You will be putting in the same amount of money in orders with one supplier as you used to with three, but now with a lower markup price, you’ve shaved $450 off your costs, putting money back into your pocket.


Our Motivation


A long time ago, Michael DeNunzio's parents lost their home due to foreclosure because their start-up restaurant wasn't profitable enough to support their current mortgage.  In the next few months losing their restaurant would be next unless some significant changes were made.


   Michael implemented his first version of the Transparent Purchasing Method, saving $40,000 dollars in purchases at the struggling restaurant in just four months, keeping the restaurant's doors open.  


Now 14 years later, after many strategy changes and hard work,  his parent's restaurant is thriving, allowing Mike to open his brick and mortar concept, Fine Folk Pizza, in Fort Myers, Florida.  Both the DeNunzio’s Brick Oven and Fine Folk Pizza companies share the title of United States Pizza Champions for their contest wins for Best Non-Traditional Pizza in the USA in the 2018 and 2019 Caputo Cup competitions at Atlantic City.  (No 2020 contest due to Co-Vid). Another fun fact about the companies is that they made it on America’s Funniest Home Videos for their table-side pizza dough acrobatics show.
